Library-Oriented Lists and Electronic Serials By Charles W. Bailey, Jr. 1.0 Introduction This document provides brief information about selected BITNET and Internet lists and electronic serials that are of interest to librarians. More comprehensive information can be found in the directories maintained by Diane Kovacs and Michael Strangelove (see below). Entries that appear in this document for the first time or have been changed are marked with an asterisk. 2.0 Lists Electronic mail lists are becoming an increasingly important source of information for librarians. The software used to support these lists is typically referred to as the "list server." 2.1 Lists That Use Eric Thomas's List Server Many BITNET lists utilize a list server that was developed by Eric Thomas. Please note that some of these BITNET lists also have Internet addresses, which are not shown here.
